For those who have never oil pulled… you’re living in the dark ages of oral care. You can whiten your teeth without bleach, just through pulling the “scum” oil of them. “Scum” is the technical term Dr. Bruce Fife, author or Oil Pulling Therapy, uses to refer to bacteria, viruses, fungi, strep, debris, candida, and other nonsense that gathers in your oral cavity. When you swish oil through your teeth and gums for 20, yes 20, minutes a day…. you reboot your immune system.  It’s simple… suck out the “scum” through the biggest gateway in your body.

Oil pulling is the single most effective self-care therapy.

It’s too good to believe, so you and your kinfolk probably won’t try it. It’s one of those practices that takes no time (b/c you can multitask and oil pull while you’re doing just about any activity that doesn’t require your voice).

I’m sounding a little fanatical.
It’s sort of like if you never drank water and someone pointed out you could be drinking water. And you started to drink water and noticed…. everything gets better. Your skin, your vision, your oral health, your beautiful bowels, your heart issues, and the list goes on.

Think I’m exaggerating?
There is research. (Of course, there are also 3000 years of testimonials coming out Ayurveda from Indian peasants.). Dr. Fife, founder of the Coconut Research Institute  will tell you all about it. Here is the interview.

 How to Oil Pull

  • Drink 1 c. water on an empty stomach.
  • Melt 1-3 tsp. coconut oil in your mouth or in a low skillet.
  • Swish through your mouth for 20 minutes while you’re busy doing something else.
  • Spit into trash (not sink).
  • Swish water through your mouth.

Oil pulling is only gross and nauseating for some people, and only for beginners. Use less oil. Get over it. And show of the benefits by flashing your pearly whites.
